Mobile Gaming for Online Poker and Casino

Monday, October 6th, 2008

One of the most talked about topics for online poker rooms and casinos has been mobile gaming. There have been multiple speeches and articles on the topic of mobile gaming, but really no results. Its never been a real focus for online poker rooms because the technology just isn’t there yet. I am shocked that online casino and sportbooks have not moved forward with this though.

For online poker rooms, its really hard to believe that poker players will spend hours at a time logged in via their mobile phone to get their fix. There are multiple reasons why it is just not feasible for poker players to utilize mobile gaming

Kentucky Online Poker Casino Domain Name Seizure

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Most of you now know, Kentucky is in the middle of seizing online poker and online gambling domains from many of the top companies in the gaming industry. It all started on Tuesday Septenber 23rd, when it was releasted that a court in Kentucky ordered the seizure of 141 poker and gambling domain names (list below).

Since then, a couple of smaller casinos have handed over their domains in fear of prosecution. Golden Casino handed over their domain, and Playshare emailed their affiliates warning that they might have to change their domain. ClubUSACasino also changed their domain.

I spoke to a couple of employees from the bigger sites on the list, their overall feel was if a state court can ever get a multinational company to give up their domain, then hell must have frozen over. I complete agree with this statement.

Today Kentucky announced that they were asking for these sites to shut down access to Kentucky users, not to shut down the sites all together. Why the hell try to take the domains then? Its sad that its so easy to see through their bullshit, yet they get away with it. Two words sum up the reasoning for all of this…Kentucky Derby.

“Our endgame is to block access within Kentucky,” Jennifer Brislin said. “But our mode to do that is to capture those domain names and, if need be — if that’s not an option that those users take — then we will at the end of the day shut down a site.”

StinkyFishPoker Set to Re-Launch

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

StinkyfishpokerAfter receiving some search hits from the term Stinkyfishpoker, I hoped over to google to see why the hell anyone would be searching this term. I was shocked to find StinkyFishPoker.com saying it was under new management, and set to launch in August 2008. Apparently they will be accepting US play as well.

Let me be clear that none of the original Stinky team, nor myself, have anything to do with the site relaunching. So don’t expect the same kick ass parties again. (more…)

Major Google Shake Up

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Today is a bad day for many of the biggest poker affiliates in the world. It looks like 5 of the biggest traffic sites have been completely dropped from googles search engine. I am really sorry to hear about this as I am good friends with most of them and would never wish this on anyone. Drops like this could cost each of them over six figures PER month.

I am really hoping that this is just a glitch that Google will fix as these affiliates have spent thousands of hours working on their sites to see it all go away in a day. It should be very interesting to see what happens from here on out, and see how Google handles this situation.
