Today is the one year anniversary of my marriage to my beautiful wife. It’s really cool to think that 365 days
ago at this exact moment my fiance was walking down the isle to become my wife (its 11:00am as I am typing). If she only knew what she was getting herself into
This first year has been truly amazing. We have had a lot of big things happen to both of us, and if this year is any indication of what is to come, then I am one lucky man.
A lot of people don’t know the story of how we got together, so I figured I would do a brief recap of our journey.
I meet Kris through a mutual friend when I was a junior in High School at the age of 16. She was a senior and 17 years of age. We immediately clicked, and began dating. Only a few months later she received a full ride scholarship to UAB for softball, and was going to move there in August of 02. This was very hard as we were young, and it was a long way away. I knew this was a girl I couldn’t let go, so I decided to get my grades up and planned on following her to UAB once I graduated.
We spent 4 amazing years together at UAB, and left more in love then ever. Once I landed my first real position with Stinkyfishpoker, I went to my jeweler and made the biggest purchase of my life. Soon after I proposed; if you can even call it that since I couldn’t get any words out other then “will you marry me” even though I had this long speech prepared.
We were married one year ago and officially began our lives together. On September 15th, it will officially be 8 years together. That’s 1/3rd of my life, spent with Kris. I am very lucky.
Since being married, we have added a member to our family. Our English bulldog puppy Dozer that you probably have heard about before.
As soon as we get back from a 7 day cruise next week, we will be moving into our new place. We are extremely excited for this.
I am not going to end this with a sappy romantic love message to my wife. Thats between us, and she will hear it later on
